Overall Responsibilities:
The goal of the Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) Program in Burundi is to strengthen key institutions (PNILP, DPML, CAMEBU and Districts) in reducing mortality and morbidity due to malaria through strong case management and availability of malaria commodities
Under the supervision of the Country Program Director, the M&E and Communications Associate will work with both the and the Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) program and the SCMS project to ensure alignment with the projects? Results Framework and to implement the projects? Performance Monitoring Plan including baseline assessment and follow-up data collection to monitor and measure the degree of achievement, outcomes and impact of project activities. With the project team and stakeholder groups, s/he will plan for and conduct monitoring activities and ensure timely reporting to donors and stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities:
M&E
- Ensure that all project information is collected, analyzed, and used in guiding internal project planning.
- Monitor and measure the projects? achievement and impact to ensure alignment with the Results Framework.
- Implement the Performance Monitoring Plan by conducting baseline assessments and collecting follow-up data.
- Plan for and conduct monitoring activities.
Communications
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting to USAID and key stakeholders.
- Develop systems, forums, protocols, and policies that facilitate communications between the technical team and other concerned parties.
- With the project technical staff, capture lessons learned and best practices, document and disseminate information, and assist with developing presentations, abstracts, articles, success stories, etc.

Qualifications:
- Degree in a health-related field such as medicine, public health, health management, or other related discipline and 2 years- experience with monitoring & evaluation of health programs
- Experience working with the MOH and national-level organizations. Working experience in Burundi with knowledge and comprehensive understanding of Burundi?s public health system/pharmaceutical sector is preferred.
- Knowledge of US Government-funded programs and experience managing relationships with USAID missions highly desired
- Strong project management and communication skills required
- Fluency in spoken and written English and French
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications; knowledge of appropriate methods for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, to set priorities, and to work independently
